Setting up the RV

After two weeks parked in my dad's backyard, we finally finished sorting through all of our stuff and have organized the RV. It was quite a cleansing feeling to downsize to only what we really need on a daily basis. The coffee maker got cut for a plastic french press, any heels were left behind for chacos and various sandals and anything but a few favorite shirts that require ironing were packed into boxes that we will store for our next life.

Today is Shaune's birthday! On a trip to Thomasville (population 35,000ish) we ate a burrito at a local shop. On the way, we had our first glimpse into an RV camp. It was quite a first impression. Most of the "rigs" parked there had obviously been there for years, some maybe 10 or 15. Wooden makeshift staircases replaced the automatic door step, while tomato plants supported by straightened clothes hangers grew on the sides of campers. Plastic chairs were set up around outside living areas and garbage cans were full of plastic bottles and cans. Not exactly the place you would want to park for a few nights. Anyway, it gave me motivation at least to research better RV sites!
